The Cubs continue to have a tough time with the Florida Marlins but Chicago is one step closer to the division title. Florida won over the Cubs Wednesday, 7-4 but the Cardinals 7-2 win over the Brewers dropped the magic number to three.
The magic number is any combination of Cubs wins and/or Brewers losses that equals three.
Chicago and the Marlins conclude the series Thursday afternoon in Miami while the Padres start the final series at Miller Park against San Diego
