Sitting atop H.S. Football world, New Prairie wins 16 Spirit Award

Russ Radtke often sits up in a 'perch' watching on as his team practices.

This week, Radtke and New Prairie are perched up above the high school football world. On Friday, the Cougars dominated Knox to capture the outright Northern State Conference Championship, completely the first undefeated regular season in school history.

Like they've done to many of their opponents on the field, New Prairie dominated the competition in cyberspace---crushing the other nominees en route to capturing the 16 Spirit Award for Week 9.

Later this week, WNDU will present New Prairie with a plaque and check for $100 from Martin's for showing the most school spirit on last week's edition of Friday Night Football.

The 9-0 Cougars will host Kankakee Valley Friday night in the opening game of the 4A Sectional playoffs.
