The Penn Kingsmen captured the Week 9 16 Spirit Award for showing the most school spirit on last week's edition of Friday Night Football.
The 8-1 Kingsmen defeated Adams to capture the Northern Indiana Conference Championship, giving their fans great reason to be spirited.
The Penn fans were decked out in pink gear for breast cancer awareness.
The Kingsmen receive a plaque and check for $100 from Martin's.
Penn coach Cory Yeoman says the Kingsmen student body, cheerleaders and band have been outstanding all season. Now they need that big student body to make the hour plus drive to Warsaw as the Kingsmen open the season against the Tigers.
It's our Martin's Spotlight game of the week and will kickoff at 7pm at Warsaw.
The Tigers are 6-3, losing out on a share of the Northern Lakes Conference title.
Penn made it to the state finals a year ago and Yeoman says that experience is a big help to this year's group. He also says this is an incredibly exciting part of the season because these are the moments players dreamed of when they were little kids.
