Adams wins 16 Spirit Award; Redman named Colts coach of the Week

The Adams Eagles are 3-0 for the first time since 1985.

It makes perfect sense why they have a ton of school spirit right now.

The Eagles captured Week three's 16 Spirit Award with the most votes of any school this season. Adams receives a plaque and check for $100 from Martin's for showing the most school spirit on Friday Night Football.

The Spirit award presentation coincided with one from the Indianapolis Colts, who honored 2nd year Eagles coach Craig Redman as the Indiana Coach of the Week.

"I had goosebumps to be truthfully honest with you," Redman said when he heard he won the award. "It was a great honor."

The Eagles won just two games in 2009, 2010 and 2011. So this year's win total has already surpassed those from 10 games in each of the previous three years.

Redman says the honor isn't just about him.

"You sit and reflect about it and you think about who is your supporting cast around you--your coaches, your players," Redman explained. "You even think about home and all the times you are away from your wife and kids--everybody around--that supporting cast--deserves a piece of this."

Adams looks to start the year 4-0 for the first time since 1966 when they battle Washington at School Field Friday night.
