House votes on violence bill, draws veto threat

The White House is threatening to veto a Republican-written renewal of the Violence Against Women Act that goes before the House today.

The White House says the bill doesn't go far enough to protect battered illegal immigrants, Native Americans or gays.

It says a Senate-passed version takes "direct aim" at those victims.
