In the presidential race, Republican John McCain is dismissing polls that say he is falling behind Democrat Barack Obama.
McCain talked to Tom Brokaw on Sunday's "Meet the Press" and says he disagrees with the majority of polls, which show him anywhere from three to 11 points behind Obama.
McCain told Brokaw the race is close and he is in a position to win the election.
"I'll take the verdict of the American people and I guarantee you two weeks from now, you will see this has been a very close race and I'm going to win it," said McCain.
"I don't want to dwell on these polls, but even if you had a big margin of error..." Brokaw said.
"I can show you, again, a Zogby poll, and our poll and other polls, that will show different numbers than the one you're showing...so...you're starting out with all due respect with fundamental assumptions that I don't agree with," McCain replied.
McCain spent the day campaigning in Iowa.
