A state judicial panel will meet next week to select three finalists for an upcoming Indiana Court of Appeals vacancy.
The Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission will interview five semifinalists Monday at the Statehouse. Following those interviews,
the commission will hold a closed meeting to discuss the three finalists.
The panel will then vote on which three names to submit to Gov. Mitch Daniels, who will appoint the new judge.
Five semifinalists were chosen from among 14 applicants for a vacancy on the appeals court that will be created by the upcoming retirement of Judge Carr Darden. Darden, who's retiring this summer, was appointed by Gov. Evan Bayh in 1994.
