Benton Harbor's Public Safety Director and a City Commissioner are at odds after some personal property was confiscated.
City Commissioner Dennis Knowles says Public Safety Director Roger Lange confiscated his personal cell phone and two tape recorders without a warrant.
It happened after Knowles says he had a heated discussion with the city's new attorney and then overheard a separate conversation from another room.
Knowles says the recorders were not working at the time and thinks he is being singled out.
Commissioner Dennis Knowles said, "It's a scare tactic. It's an intimidation because I have not been one to go along with the crap that I see that's going on and I'm one to be very vocal as some of my other colleagues."
NewsCenter 16 contacted Director Lange Friday afternoon.
He says he did seize some property from Knowles as part of an investigation, but said there was not a warrant issued.
Lange says he could not comment further until next week.
