You picked a nearly 150-year-old home in Elkhart for a complete front yard makeover, as part of our 16 Curb Appeal Contest. And to the homeowners' delight, landscaping work is now officially underway.
Viewers selected this 1862 brick Italian farm house as the winner of the contest.
The homeowners, Brian and Beth Housand bought it at a sheriff's sale, but are spending a lot of money trying to restore it. That's why they're so excited to have Linton's Enchanted Gardens doing the dirty work when it comes to landscaping.
“That's been the major stress,” Beth said. “We're working so hard inside, but the outside is such an eyesore.”
Nearby residents have also chimed in about the Housands’ worthiness of the yard makeover, including the founder of Linton’s Enchanted Gardens.
“I’m an Elkhart native resident and had been by this home thousands of times,” said Mark Linton, “and [I] have always admired this home.”
