LOVELOCK, Nev. Unseasonably cold temperatures have added urgency to the search in the mountains of northwestern Nevada for a couple and four children who have been missing since Sunday.
Officials say the group went to the Seven Troughs area to play in the snow about noon on Sunday but haven't returned home. Temperatures plunged to minus-16 degrees early Monday and are again expected to drop below zero before dawn Tuesday. It was unclear what supplies the group might have been carrying.
Officials identify the group as 34-year-old James Glanton, his 25-year-old girlfriend, Christina McIntee, and the four children, ages 10, 4 and 3. Two of the kids are the adults' children, while one is a niece and one is a nephew.
Officials are hoping to resume an aerial search after daybreak Tuesday.
