The next time you take a vacation to San Francisco don't be surprised if you see a naked person strolling by.
That’s because it's completely legal.
Now one elected official in the city is pushing for a change.
Supervisor Scott Wiener is introducing legislation to restrict public nudity.
Right now it's perfectly legal to be naked in San Francisco as long as you are not bothering anyone.
Wiener wants to require people to cover up at public eateries and provide a towel or some sort of bottom-buffer in public.
San Fransisco resident Derek Spreckelmeyer says, "I don't want to sit on a seat that somebody's butt has just been touching. Sorry, I just don't think that's appropriate."
Supervisor Wiener represents a district where a group of nudists is known to walk around.
He says he only wants nudists to show basic courtesy, not start a debate on the appropriateness of public nudity.
