NORTH CANTON, Ohio--- Two infants whose skeletal remains were found at a dead woman's Ohio home have been identified as her children.

North Canton police Chief Stephan Wilder says investigators believe the infants were twins and their remains were stored for nearly 40 years.

A man found the remains in a locked footlocker in December while cleaning out his mother's mobile home in North Canton, about 45 miles southeast of Cleveland. The 66-year-old woman died in late November.

Authorities say DNA testing indicates the infants were her children. A coroner says their cause of death was undetermined.

Wilder says the family was notified Thursday and seemed relieved to have an answer about the mysterious remains.

He says the remains will be turned over to the family, which is making arrangements for interment.
