Pa. high court denies Sandusky delay request

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is turning down Jerry Sandusky's request to delay the start of his trial on child sexual abuse charges.

The high court ruled Monday that the case against the former Penn State assistant football coach can begin with jury selection Tuesday.

Sandusky's lawyers sought the justice's review on Friday, after the trial judge and a lower-level court rejected several attempts to forestall the proceedings.

Opening statements are expected to begin June 11.

The 68-year-old Sandusky faces more than 50 criminal charges for alleged abuse of 10 boys over 15 years, allegations he denies.
