A California man has been exonerated 10 years after a high school friend falsely accused him of kidnap and rape.

26-year-old Brian Banks cried tears of joy after hearing the judge's decision in a courtroom in Long Beach.

He spent five years in prison after taking a plea deal.

After his release, Banks' accuser reached out to him on Facebook.

He hired a private investigator to video tape their meeting, where she recanted her story.

Banks was a high school football star with hopes of an NFL career, which he says he still wants.
