Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is taking the fight to Mitt Romney in New Hampshire, quietly assembling a campaign of nearly two dozen paid staffers to challenge the former Massachusetts governor in his backyard.

Huntsman is skipping the Iowa caucuses but is making New Hampshire a priority in his campaign.

The former Utah governor and ex-ambassador to China isn't yet well-known in the first-in-the-nation primary state. His staff says that will change as Huntsman becomes more aggressive and launches what may end up being the largest paid GOP primary operation in state history.

His campaign says he has three times more paid staff in New Hampshire than any of his opponents. And he plans to open as many as eight campaign offices across the state by the end of September.
