The fire that destroyed more than 500 homes near Colorado Springs is now 85 percent contained, and crews are hoping to have it fully contained tomorrow.

But high winds and hot weather are in the forecast across much of Colorado and the Southwest, and those conditions will work against them. The heat and high winds will also make it easier for new fires to spread in the region.

Investigators have been searching for clues to what started the wildfire. They don't believe natural causes are involved.

Meanwhile, in California, officials say an unattended campfire near a main route into Yosemite National Park grew into the blaze that forced the evacuations of 1,500 people. Several hundred are still being kept away.

And hundreds of homes and people near Prescott, Arizona, have been evacuated because of a wind-whipped wildfire that grew to nearly 11 square miles by this morning.
