Richmond police are searching for a man suspected of killing two people in the city's Church Hill neighborhood and then fleeing in a stolen SUV with a two-year-old boy in the backseat.
The Virginia State Police said Saturday night they are looking for a 2012 white GMC terrain SUV, license number XCZ-6757.
Police issued an amber alert Saturday identifying the child as Kaiden Burnside, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy wearing a red plaid shirt, a cream vest, green corduroy slacks and white tennis shoes.
They say the child is in "extreme danger."
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that a man and a woman were found shot at a multi-family residence at about 5 p.m. Saturday. The fleeing suspect then stole an SUV that had been left on the street with its motor running and the child inside. Police said they don't believe the shooting was random.
