Police in Florida are dealing with a case of a child accused of killing another child.

They say a 12-year-old boy has admitted beating a toddler to death with a baseball bat because she was crying while he was trying to watch TV.

Investigators in Lauderhill say it happened Friday while the boy was babysitting a 10-year-old and the 17-month-old girl. The younger child was rushed to the hospital after an adult called 911. But little Shaloh Joseph was pronounced dead from head injuries. The 12-year-old has been arrested on first-degree murder charges.

In 1999, another Florida boy, Lionel Tate, was charged with beating and stomping a six-year-old playmate while imitating pro wrestling moves. He was convicted of murder and got a life prison sentence but it was thrown out and he later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.
