A disaster official says one child is dead and 45 people are injured after two strong earthquakes shook eastern Indonesia. A state news agency is reporting that dozens of buildings were destroyed or damaged.
The first quake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck just off Sumbawa island. Several hours later, a powerful aftershock hit the same region.
Witnesses say electricity was temporarily cut in some places, including a hospital, which was briefly evacuated.
Earlier today, another tremor rattled residents on the west coast of Sumatra island.
