Strong earthquakes have rocked Indonesia today, sending panicked residents running from their homes.

Others ran to high ground, fearing a tsunami that never came.

A 6.1-magnitude quake struck off Sumatra Island early today. Thirteen hours later, a 6.7-magnitude temblor hit off an island to the west.

There are no immediate reports of injuries.

One hospital evacuated all patients in case of aftershocks. Some people were treated outside.
