Astronauts on the international space station are hooking up the lab's newest compartment during a spacewalk this morning.

Commander Peggy Whitson and Daniel Tani are connecting power, heating and fluid lines for the Harmony compartment, which arrived aboard Discovery last month.

The installation will keep the next shuttle visit on track for early next month.

NASA cannot launch another space shuttle until the school bus-sized compartment is all wired up, inside and out. Atlantis is supposed to blast off December 6th with a European laboratory that will dock to Harmony.

The astronauts have already volunteered to work through Thanksgiving to make sure everything is in its right place.
