A French couple has offered testimony about a mystery car that may have been involved in the death of Princess Diana.

At a coroner's inquest in London, the couple testified that they saw a white Fiat Uno being driven erratically, emerging from a Paris tunnel at about the same time Diana's car crashed there ten years ago.

The couple testified from Paris by a video hookup.

The car is a missing piece of the puzzle. Police concluded that Diana's car had collided with a white Fiat Uno, but they never found the car -- and they were never sure whether the collision played a role in the crash.

The couple who testified today said they thought the driver of the slow-moving Fiat was drunk. They say that as they overtook the car, they noticed the driver looking intently in his rear-view and side-view mirrors.

The couple's own car didn't go through the tunnel, but joined the expressway farther on.

Mohamed al Fayed, the father of Diana's companion, alleges that his son and the princess were the victims of a conspiracy orchestrated by Prince Philip. He has said a white Fiat may have been part of such a plot.
