Fatal Crash in Harbert Save Email Print

A | A | A

One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a crash on Red Arrow Highway this afternoon.

Chickaming Township police tell us there was a head on crash just south of Harbert Road in Harbert.

Police say a pickup truck driven by Charles Frazier, a 75-year-old from Harbert, crossed the center line and struck the vehicle driven by Linda Eiserloh of West Chicago. Frazier’s truck continued on striking David Watson of Stevensville head on. Frazier was killed instantly.

The reason Frazier crossed the center line is not clear.

Hi, I was the third person in the accident. My car was totaled as were the other two vehicles. I saw the truck veer toward me as to hit me head on and there was not way to avoid collision so I turned my steering wheel all the way to the right. Though my car was totalled , I emerged with only a bruise on my thigh and tiny pieces of glass in my arm and face (they all disappeared fairly quickly). I was out of town at a reunion in Lakeside. Before I went to Michigan my husband and I prayed for my safety. You never know for sure how much prayer helps, but I don't think I would be here if we hadn't asked for that help. I visited the man who was injured and the family of the man who died. It appeared to me that he was already dead before he hit me.I thank God that the other man and I both lived and are o.k.. My love and sympathy to the family of the driver who died. Linda

I have not tallked to my brother personally as I live in NC. We were just there and we will try to visit Labor Day again. He is talking but in alot of pain still as he had a broken femur. My sister-in-law says he is doing good as she won't leave his side. We have still not heard anything about the driver of the other car. My heart goes out to the family that lost there family member and I know it was hard for the son of that man to come and see my brother but I hope they will do well as they greeve there loss. My brother was moved to a private room today and I know he will be ok. Thanks for all your support.

Sheila, Thanks for posting a response to my questions. I hope your brother heals up and recovers quickly and fully, wishing the same for the other person involved also. Please keep posted as you learn more as to what happened. Having seen the accidents aftermath left a very somber reminder to me as to how fragile our lives are . Thank you again Sheila.

I am the sister of one of the the ones hurt in the accident in Harbert,Mi. My brother has a long road to recovery but we believe he will be ok. I do not know about the other person who hit him head on. My sister-in-law says he's battered but not beaten. It has not been released on what happened we have gotten bits and pieces but it is still under investigation. Thanks for you prayers and I hope the other person is ok.

I saw the aftermath of this crash heading back to Chicago from Sawyer Mi. US.12 was blocked off in both directions and we were diverted around the accident scene. Tragic, and shocking, I had just driven past Harbert Rd./ US.12 intersection 2 hours earlier northbound to go Blueberry picking. I would like to know what happened? Also want to extend my deepest sympathys to the families of those involved.
