Foxes spared as boy receives rabies shots

Posted: 10/29/2007 - The boy was nipped on the finger last week after climbing into the animals' enclosure. Officials say the boy's mother initially didn't want him to undergo the shots. It is uncertain which fox bit the boy. Each of the animals would have had to be killed to undergo a necropsy, which is the only way to definitely detect rabies.
