MUSKEGON, Mich. Officials say a woman killed outside a West Michigan social club died after being run over by a car and not from a gunshot suffered moments earlier.
Muskegon County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Timothy M. Maat tells the Muskegon Chronicle Friday that the driver was trying to escape gunshots and failed to stop after hitting 20-year-old Jalisa Love.
The driver never reported hitting someone to police.
Lamarcus Calvin was arraigned Thursday in Muskegon County District Court on failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing injuring or death.
Love was one of at least seven people shot Sept. 22. Dupree Johnson and Ja'Colby Brown, both 20, died from their wounds.
No one has been charged with murder. A 20-year-old man has been charged with lying to police.
