HOWELL, Mich. A Michigan woman who had about 90 dogs and puppies removed from her farm has been sentenced to five years of probation on an animal cruelty charge.
The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports Margaret Elaine Komorny of Howell Township was sentenced Thursday on the felony charge after earlier pleading guilty. The judge ordered that she also not own any animals.
The charge arose from circumstances this year at Komorny's Livingston County farm. She also has forfeited ownership rights to puppies and adult dogs that were seized in May. Komorny had earlier denied allegations by authorities that the animals were living in unsanitary conditions.
Authorities seized 91 dogs and puppies, and two died. Her lawyer says she also has sick horses that she's planning to euthanize.
