Michigan authorities say police officers checking on the welfare of a person who failed to show up for work found a woman who'd been shot to death and a man who'd been seriously wounded.
The Ingham County sheriff's department tells WILX-TV (http://bit.ly/Rp0D2z ) that Stockbridge police went to a location Monday afternoon after getting a call from an employer about a missing worker.
Stockbridge is a community of 1,200 about 20 miles northeast of Jackson.
The sheriff's department says officers found a woman dead and man wounded. They're reported to be about 60 years old.
The victims' names and relationship weren't immediately released. The sheriff's department told the Lansing State Journal it expected to release more information late Monday.
