A woman is dead and a man remains in critical condition after someone shot them and set their car on fire on Detroit's west side.
Detroit Police Sgt. Alan Quinn says witnesses heard gunshots and spotted the burning car at 1:40 a.m., near West McNichols and the Southfield Freeway.
Police say a woman was found dead inside the burned-out green Ford Contour. The man was able to get out of the car and is being treated at a hospital.
Police say the suspect fled. An investigation is ongoing.
