Wheelchair hit by ice cream truck in West Michigan

Authorities say a man escaped serious injury when the motorized wheelchair he was operating was hit by an ice cream truck in West Michigan.

WOOD-TV reports the man was trying to cross a street Sunday evening in Kentwood, near Grand Rapids, when he was hit.

Police say the man had minor injuries and agreed to go to a hospital to get checked out. Police say the driver of the ice cream truck was at fault.

The station reports the driver says he didn't see the man.
