ROOSEVELT PARK, Mich. Authorities say an assistant manager at a western Michigan Wal-Mart store responding to a fight among several women collapsed and later died.

The Muskegon Chronicle says the 35-year-old woman had an apparently unrelated medical incident on her way to the front of the Muskegon-area store on Saturday. Police say she was walking to where four women were fighting.

Roosevelt Park Police Chief David Boone says she became "wobbly" and fell. Some people attempted to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

A Wal-Mart spokeswoman says details about the woman aren't being released out of respect for her family. She says the fight and her death aren't connected.

An autopsy is planned.
