Victims who lost lives due to crime remembered

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - Victims who lost their lives because of crime were remembered by family and law enforcement on Friday.

As part of National Crime Victims' Rights Week, Cass County officials held the annual flagpole ceremony.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Victims of Crimes Act, which provides funding for crime victims.

Among those attending today's ceremony, the family of John and Carolyn Tarwacki.

The couple was shot and stabbed to death nearly four years ago at their home in Howard Township.

Keith Lintz, 29, was sentenced to life without parole for murdering the Tarwackis, plus two years for a felony firearm charge.
