Authorities in Genesee County say a snow squall has caused a multivehicle accident with several injuries, shutting down U.S. 23 south of Flint.
That crash and another Thursday that closed part of Interstate 94 in southwestern Michigan came during a blast of winter weather that caused a multivehicle pileup on I-75 in Detroit. At least three died in that crash.
Genesee County's central dispatch center says the crash closed U.S. 23 in both directions in Grand Blanc Township. It says the injuries are believed to be minor.
WWJ-TV says more than 20 vehicles are involved, including some tractor-trailers.
The Van Buren County sheriff's department says eight semis and six cars crashed on I-94, closing the westbound lanes to traffic at Paw Paw. There is no immediate word on injuries.
