Power was knocked out to thousands of people all over Michiana late Thursday night and into early Friday morning, but as Sunday afternoon power has been restored to a majority of those who lost it.
As of 8:30 p.m. Sunday all I&M customers in Indiana have had their power restored, and more than 99-percent of those affected in southwest Michigan have their power up and running as well.
Now only 30 customers in Berrien County remain without power, but I&M estimates that services should be restored to them by 4 p.m. Monday.
At this stage of the restoration process I&M says much of the work is devoted to restoring smaller pockets of individual properties and customers, which can be time consuming due to the larger amount of repairs that must be made.
I&M will issue an additional power update this evening as crews continue their efforts getting 100-percent of their services up and running.
