The University of Michigan says that Twitter chief executive Dick Costolo will be the commencement speaker at the school's May 4 graduation ceremony in Michigan Stadium.
Costolo is a Michigan alumnus and is to receive an honorary doctor of laws degree.
The university said Monday that six others also are in line to get honorary degrees. The board of regents is to decide on the selections Thursday.
The others are historian David McCullough, economist Jeffrey Sachs, ex-U.S. Rep. Dale Kildee, higher education advocate William Brehm, dancer Suzanne Farrell and business leadership expert Rosabeth Kanter.
