A judge has ordered a suburban Detroit man to stand trial in the slayings and dismemberments of an Allen Park couple who let him live with them in their home.
Testimony in a preliminary examination for Roger Bowling ended Wednesday in Allen Park District Court.
Judge John Courtright ordered Bowling jailed with bond until his Sept. 5 arraignment in Wayne County Circuit Court.
Bowling is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of 32-year-old Danielle Greenway and 42-year-old Chris Hall.
Their torsos were found July 17 in the Detroit River and a canal feeding into the waterway on Detroit's east side. Searchers found other remains submerged near a seawall in the river.
Authorities say Greenway and Hall were killed in their home. Bowling and Greenway had a previous relationship.
