A 30-year-old suburban Detroit man is heading for trial on accusations he was driving drunk when he crashed into a medical transport van, killing the driver and two kidney dialysis patients.

Jeremy Yancey of Macomb County's Chesterfield Township waived his preliminary examination Tuesday in Highland Park District Court. He faces trial in Wayne County Circuit Court on charges of second-degree murder, impaired driving causing death, and reckless driving causing death.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says police tried to stop Yancey's speeding van April 12. Officers ended the chase, but the van kept speeding until the crash in the Detroit enclave of Highland Park.

The Wayne County jail says he's being held there on a $500,000 bond. It has no record of whether he has a lawyer.
