Thousands volunteer to "Feed My Starving Children"

More than 8,000 volunteers are gathering in Michiana to help feed millions of hungry people around the world.

From now until Sunday volunteers for the “Feed My Starving Children” national program will put together pre-packaged meals to send to Africa, South America, Mexico, Afghanistan, Japan, and North Korea.
Nappanee Missionary Church has participated in the program for three years. This year, the church is attempting to top their goal by sending more than 2 million meals.

“We get involved because we believe in doing nothing is not an option it's really neat we can partner with schools, corporations, civic groups, Bethel college will have a group that will come into tonight, and it's just exciting to watch people come into tonight and have their heart warm and saying I'm going to do something about the crisis that's happening all around the world,” says Dave Engbrecht, Senior Pastor at the church.

The first year Nappanee Missionary Church participated they put together 300,000 meals. Today, students from the P.H.M and Fairfield school districts lent a helping hand. This evening students from Bethel College will take over the volunteering.

All of the meals packaged during this weekend will be shipped out by the end of the day this Sunday, November 11.
