DETROIT (AP) - A 24-year-old man has been arrested and likely faces charges in the attempted rape and blowtorch burning of a woman in Detroit.
Deputy Chief Rodney Johnson said Friday that the man was caught Thursday while committing another crime. He says the man also is a suspect in attacks last year in which two women were burned.
A 23-year-old woman was forced into a car Wednesday as she walked from a gas station. An attacker ripped off her clothing and used a blowtorch on her before she stabbed him in the eye with a screwdriver and escaped.
