Authorities in Lansing say spray-painted graffiti has been found on the state Capitol building's columns and behind a memorial on the lawn's northeast side.

The Lansing State Journal reports (http://on.lsj.com/UuNtAW ) the graffiti was found early Thursday and state employees worked to remove it from the memorial.

The graffiti includes stick figures on the columns and the phrase "Give art a chance" on the memorial. Police are seeking tips from the public in the case.
