The city of St. Joseph, Mich., has chosen a new city manager.
According to the Herald Palladium, Richard Lewis, 58, was selected for the position Thursday morning, May 16.

Lewis was a former city manager for Traverse City from 1991 to 2008, and currently works for a consulting form.

Several steps need to be taken before the city of St. Joseph can set a starting dating, including an acceptance of contract and a background check to make the appointment official.

Lewis is replacing long-time city manager, Frank Walsh, who moved to Meridian Township to take care of parents and move to an administrative position.
