Many international players who belong to the West Michigan Whitecaps don't need to worry about dinner. Mike and Lucia Page have that base covered.

The Pages have hosted baseball players for five years at their home in Rockford, north of Grand Rapids. The players are from Spanish-speaking countries such as Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

Lucia Page tells The Grand Rapids Press (bit.ly/RVDaby) that she was born in Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. Her husband makes the players laugh with his attempt at the language.

The Whitecaps are a minor league team affiliated with the Detroit Tigers. Tigers pitcher Brayan Villarreal says living with the Pages was like living with his real family in 2009.
