RAISIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A 31-year-old soldier on leave from the U.S. Army has been ordered held without bond in connection the strangulation death of one man and stabbing of another.
Brian Gogue was arraigned Monday in Lenawee County District Court on open murder, assault with intent to murder and weapons charges.
He's being held in the county jail pending an Oct. 21 preliminary examination. The Associated Press left a message Monday afternoon seeking comment from his court-appointed lawyer.
The Daily Telegram of Adrian says that 20-year-old Joel Krutsch of Adrian was slain Saturday morning at a mobile home in Raisin Township, about 50 miles southwest of Detroit. An 18-year-old man from Adrian was stabbed in the shoulder.
Police say Gogue was visiting his estranged wife at the time of the attack.
