It's been 13 years and no absences for a recent graduate of Grand Blanc High School.
Brian Gebhart has something on his resume that's tougher to get
than a superior score on a college admission test: He had perfect attendance, even back to kindergarten. Grand Blanc school officials say they couldn't find anyone who's done it before.
Gebhart tells The Flint Journal that his parents made clear to him that school is important. On top of that, he says he must have a good immune system.
Gebhart says it also comes down to luck. He never had a major
illness or had to attend a funeral on a school day.
Flint-area Judge Duncan Beagle works with kids who have been
truant. He says he's "dumbfounded" over Gebhart's perfect record.
