Silenced lawmaker gets huge outpouring of support

State Rep. Lisa Brown said she never magined using the word "vagina" during a debate over anti-abortion legislation would lead to being barred from speaking n the Michigan House for a day.

But the Democratic state lawmaker from West Bloomfield says she
also never thought it would lead to an international outpouring of
support.

Eve Ensler, author of "The Vagina Monologues," helped Brown and others perform her groundbreaking play about female sexuality
on the Capitol steps last week. Jon Stewart parodied House GOP
leaders' decision, and Barbara Walters talked about the incident on
"The View."

National women's have groups made Brown a cause celebre. Democrats say Brown's treatment is another example of a Republican
"war on women."

Brown says she's surprised but pleased by the donations and
support she's received.
