State police say a 62-year-old man who disappeared while training his dogs in Jackson County apparently died from a medical condition and not from foul play.

State police say that searchers found the body of Charles Gehringer about 10 a.m. Thursday. Mlive.com says Gehringer had diabetes, and a health condition is believed to have caused his death.

An autopsy is set for Friday.

WILX-TV says the Holt man disappeared Tuesday evening while exercising his two beagles in Thompkins Township, about 70 miles west of Detroit.

Authorities say the searchers included Michigan Department of Natural Resources officers in canoes, a helicopter crew, police dogs and civilian volunteers.
