DETROIT A second trial has been delayed for a man charged with fatally shooting a 12-year-old Detroit girl during a dispute between his mother and the girl's mother over a cellphone.

Joshua Brown faces a first-degree murder charge. A judge declared a mistrial in his case last year.

Brown's latest trial was to begin Monday, but court records show it was reset for Nov. 14.

Honor student Kade'jah Davis was killed on Jan. 31, 2012, by shots fired through the door of her home.

Heather Brown pleaded no contest in August 2012 to being an accessory after the fact for driving her son to the killing scene.

Prosecutors say Joshua Brown accompanied his mother to confront Kade'jah's mother over the disappearance of Heather Brown's cellphone from an office where she worked.
