SILVERCREEK TOWNSHIP Police have identified a man who was pulled from the water Wednesday night in Indian Lake.

Neighbors found the body of 58-year-old Steven Crans, from Bangor, around 8:45p.m. He was fishing on the southwest side of Indian Lake in Silvercreek Township, off M62 about 6 miles west of Dowagiac.

Witnesses say they had seen Crans fishing earlier in the evening and eventually noticed that his boat was still on the water, and he was not in it. Several home owners went out to the boat and discovered a body in the water.

An autopsy has yet to be performed, to confirm how Crans died.
