BAY CITY, Mich.--- Police say a DNA analysis has linked a three-year-old burglary case to a Michigan man.
According to authorities, they tested an ice cream stick found at the scene of the 2011 Pinconning VFW Hall break-in. DNA results led them to the conclusion that Dewayne Haag was responsible for the crime.
The Bay City Times reports the 44-year-old Haag told police he's innocent because he makes sure he doesn't leave evidence behind.
Police say $725 and five boxes of candy bars worth $125 each were taken from the VFW hall.
Haag was arraigned on one count of breaking and entering with intent to commit a larceny. Radio station WSGW reports Friday he's currently serving time for several other breaking and entering charges.
Count documents don't indicate if Haag has an attorney.
