Detroit police say a 14-year-old boy was found shot to death on the ground on the city's near west side, and they're trying to track down several young males considered "persons of interest" in the killing investigation.

The department says the shooting happened Wednesday night. A police statement says authorities found the victim about 9:30 p.m. and says he had a gunshot wound.

Police have released store security camera images showing several men or youths and say all those shown "are wanted for questioning in the incident."

Authorities haven't released the victim's name.
