Free parking at Silver Beach is going to be a lot harder to find this summer.
The Herald Palladium reports that the city has approved a 2-hour parking limit along Lake Boulevard, for the weekend days.
Business owners in the area have complained that tourists park along the bluff and trek to the beach, rather than pay the 6 or 8 dollar daily parking fee at the beach parking lot. They say that makes it hard for customers to find parking for restaurants, and hard for employees to find a place to park all day.
The new rules will be in effect from 9 to 5 on weekend days, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
